Admissions Appeals

Where the Trust is unable to offer a place at The Brian Clarke Church of England Academy because the school is oversubscribed, parents/legal guardians have the right of appeal to an Independent Panel set up under the Schools Standards and Framework Act 1998 as amended by the Education Act 2022 and subject to the School Admissions Appeal Code 2012.

Parents/legal guardians should notify the Clerk to the Trustees at the Cranmer Education Trust within 20 school days of receiving the letter refusing a place of their intention to lodge an appeal.

Parents/legal guardians have the opportunity to submit their case to the panel in writing and also to attend to present their case. Parents/legal guardians will normally receive 10 school days’ notice of the place and time of the hearing. Further information about any appeal will be provided by the Independent Clerk to the Appeals Panel.
