Brian Clarke Exhibition

In the last week of term 2023, Brian Clarke personally invited 20 of our students to come and see his exhibition ‘A Great Light’ at Damien Hirst’s Newport Street Gallery, in London. The exhibition marked Brian Clarke’s 70th year, featuring work from across his five decade career. The students were able to experience a wide range of his work and were taken on tour by two of the artists from Clarke’s studios. This gave the students the opportunity to learn more about his work and why he his regarded to be the most important artist working in stained glass today.

Whilst in London the students were able to take in some of the sights on the coach by taking a detour by the houses of parliament, Westminster Abby and Buckingham Palace. We also fitted in a quick visit to Tate Britain where students were able to see a wider collection of art from across the time periods and movements.

The students were highly commended on their exceptional behaviour wherever we went and once again were excellent ambassadors for our school.
