Year 11 Aim: To support students through the next phase of their academic journey and prepare them for choices at post 16. To ensure that all students apply to a post 16 pathway and receive individual guidance to support their choices. Students will be fully prepared for interviews at colleges or local apprenticeship providers.
Rationale: Students will revisit local further education and apprenticeship providers in the local area. They will have received individual guidance and support from our Positive Steps advisor on choices, and which pathways are available for them to choose. All students will be guided through this process, including filling in application forms, attending mock interviews in school to help them prepare and accepting their offers. Students will revisit local labour market information and gain a realistic view of what employment is like in our local area.
Applications and Post 16 Pathways
Students will be reminded about post 16 pathways and receive individual guidance and support. Students will be guided through the application and interview processes. Students will identify any skills that they have that are transferable and to look at their own personal skills and achievements to date.
