‘Let Your Light Shine’ – a poem by Talia, Year 8

At Brian Clarke, we rise each day,
With hearts and minds prepared to play,
To learn, to grow, to dream so wide,
With ambition lighting us inside.
A place where hopes are not confined,
Where every student’s light can shine.

We’re many voices, faiths, and lands,
Yet side by side, we walk hand in hand.
A multi-cultural place of grace,
Where every background finds its place.
Respect and kindness lead the way,
Fairness guides us every day.

In halls alive with sport and cheer,
From field to court, our goals are clear.
Teamwork, spirit, sweat, and fun,
We strive for excellence ’til it’s won.
Each game we play, we rise and climb,
And let our light shine every time.

In every class, through every test,
We give our effort, aim our best.
With Cranmer Education Trust, our guiding star,
Community is who we are.
Support, inclusion, standing strong –
We lift each other all along.
No one’s left behind or lost,
We care, no matter what the cost.

Through listening ears and open hearts,
Fairness is where our true growth starts.
We celebrate both “you” and “mine”
So every single light can shine.
“Let your light shine”

What does it mean?
It means be bold, be kind, be seen.
Be true, be brave, be all you are,
Your voice, your dreams can travel far.
At Brian Clarke, the spark is you.
So let your light shine bright and true.

by Talia, Year 8 (Academic Year 2025-26)
