The Brian Clarke Academy is excited to present its first full school production! Please join us for this fantastic evening. There will be a raffle and tuck shop available in the interval.
“Matilda Wormwood is a clever, courageous young girl with a love for books and a vivid imagination. Sadly, her life at home is far from happy. Her parents barely notice her—when they do, they belittle her intelligence and scorn her passion for learning. But Matilda is not one to be underestimated…”
Doors open 6pm
Show starts at 6.30pm
Adults £5, Under 16s £3, Group of 4 £10
A small number of tickets will be available to purchase on the door.
Parking
Attendees are welcome to park on The Brian Clarke Academy’s car park, but please be aware there is very limited parking available. Once our car park is full, you are welcome to use the car park at the Oldham College sports arena on Rochdale Road. If both of these locations fill up, you will need to find local parking such as Oldham Civic Centre. Please avoid using the Oldham Leisure Centre car park as this will very likely incur a fine. Blue Badge holders can reserve
a parking space at the Academy at time of booking.
This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Music Theatre International. All authorised performance materials are also supplied by MTI. www.MTIshows.co.uk
Book by Dennis Kelly

At Brian Clarke, we rise each day,
With hearts and minds prepared to play,
To learn, to grow, to dream so wide,
With ambition lighting us inside.
A place where hopes are not confined,
Where every student’s light can shine.
We’re many voices, faiths, and lands,
Yet side by side, we walk hand in hand.
A multi-cultural place of grace,
Where every background finds its place.
Respect and kindness lead the way,
Fairness guides us every day.
In halls alive with sport and cheer,
From field to court, our goals are clear.
Teamwork, spirit, sweat, and fun,
We strive for excellence ’til it’s won.
Each game we play, we rise and climb,
And let our light shine every time.
In every class, through every test,
We give our effort, aim our best.
With Cranmer Education Trust, our guiding star,
Community is who we are.
Support, inclusion, standing strong –
We lift each other all along.
No one’s left behind or lost,
We care, no matter what the cost.
Through listening ears and open hearts,
Fairness is where our true growth starts.
We celebrate both “you” and “mine”
So every single light can shine.
“Let your light shine”
What does it mean?
It means be bold, be kind, be seen.
Be true, be brave, be all you are,
Your voice, your dreams can travel far.
At Brian Clarke, the spark is you.
So let your light shine bright and true.
